This concentration exercise is a cardiac coherence practice

Put your headphones on and step in.

All background photos in this exercise were  taken at Sainte Anne, l'ilet Chevalier, Martinique.

Cardiac coherence is a breathing technique used by astronauts, fighter pilots, top sportsmen and women, amongst others, to enhance their psychological and physical abilities under stressful conditions.

Following the tracks of pioneering Russian physiologist Evgeny Vaschillo, cardiac coherence was introduced and developed in the United States in 1995 by Stephen Elliot. It was promoted in France from 2003 by Dr David Servan-Schreiber and the Institute of Dr David O'Hare.

The method can be memorized as ‘3-6-5’

Repeat the exercise 3 times a day
Take 6 breaths per minute during the exercise
    The exercise takes 5  minutes

Its aim is to help re-establish a balance between the heart, brain and body  by synchronising both heart and breathing rates.

It has many benefits which include

 Enhancing stress and anxiety management
    Emotional rebalancing
    Strengthening of the immune system
Reducing sleep disorders, depression, and burnout risks
    Reducing high blood pressure
Increasing energy while reducing chronic fatigue
